YouTube happens to host millions of videos – and these would include the likes of music videos, crazy stunts, pet antics, and of course, some other content which would not be deemed to be appropriate for the little ones in your home. Hence, it is not surprising to see Google take the necessary precautions and steps to make sure that the innocence of your children are not compromised, through the launch of a new YouTube app on the Android platform that has been specially programmed to target children. This app is known as YouTube Kids, where it will launch this coming February 23rd.
Specially designed in order to make it a snap for the young ones to hunt down content that are appropriate for them, YouTube Kids also offers parents additional peace of mind, knowing that adult-themed content would have been filtered out beforehand. Apparently, it has been reported that the user interface for YouTube Kids have become a whole lot more simple, not to mention clean and boasting a slew of large icons and image.
While one can tap the search icon to check out the search terms, one is also able to make full use of voice simply by speaking into the device. Not only that, YouTube Kids is smart enough to detect and reject searches where certain keywords are involved, and “sex” comes to mind here. Looks like this is one rumor that will finally see the light of day!
