Patch 6.1 for World of Warcraft is certainly shaping up to be a rather interesting one. Not only will the game add mounts for level 1 players, racing games, selfies, but now it seems that Blizzard is going to give gamers the ability to tweet directly from within the game itself. Prior to this if gamers wanted to tweet, they’d have to alt-tab out, but with this new feature, you won’t have to do that anymore.

This is great for gamers who might want to share cool things they find in their quests in Azeroth, like downing a raid boss, looting the weapon that’s eluded them for weeks, or maybe even spotting a rare beast that Hunters might be interested in taming. The feature will allow users to tweet text-only messages, and also allow players to take and crop screenshots and post it directly onto Twitter.

All this requires from the user is a Twitter account and they will also need to enable the function in the game, sign in, approve the game, and you’re good to go! Users will be able to tweet directly by typing /share or clicking a small icon in the game’s user interface. For those worried about security, Blizzard has reassured that they will not be sending out tweets on your behalf, and have also added a mechanic that will prevent addons from doing that as well. So, what do you guys make of this feature? Yay or nay?
