The wait has finally come to an end for T-Mobile HTC One M8 owners. The T-Mobile HTC One M8 Lollipop update has finally been released. HTC had previously said that it would get the update out for these devices within 90 days after Google released the Lollipop source code but it couldn’t quite meet its own deadline. Nevertheless the delay was under a week and HTC managed to push the update out.

It was confirmed by HTC over the weekend that it had received technical approval for this update and that the over the air roll out would start from Monday. Though yesterday no new software update was released for the T-Mobile HTC One M8.

It turns out that this update had to be delayed once again, albeit just by one day, because we heard earlier today that Lollipop for T-Mobile HTC One M8 is indeed going to roll out within a few hours.

The 632.7MB update bumps up system version to Android 5.0 Lollipop, adding all of the features and enhancements it brings, like lock screen notifications, a new user interface and improved privacy features.

T-Mobile has started rolling out the update over the air so it shouldn’t take more than a couple of days for it to land on all supported devices. Users can manually check for a new update in the Software update section of the native Settings app.
