Steward’s son had viewed The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies in the weekend before allegedly making that claim in the classroom, and when he confronted the school principal to understand this bizarre suspension, it seems that the principal mentioned that his son’s claim was a threat to another child’s safety, and it is immaterial as to whether the threats are magical or not. Neither would be tolerated.
There has been no comment forthcoming from the district’s superintendent or school principal, and Steward did share, “I assure you my son lacks the magical powers necessary to threaten his friend’s existence. If he did, I’m sure he’d bring him right back.”
Interestingly enough, Steward’s son is no stranger to getting into trouble with authority, as he has been suspended thrice to date – once for calling a black classmate black, with the other incident involving bringing a book to school that featured a drawing of a pregnant woman within.
