Verizon may have kicked off the Lollipop update release process for U.S. carriers but Sprint is seriously getting a move on. It has already released the update for HTC One M7 and the Samsung Galaxy S5. A leaked internal document believed to be from Sprint has appeared online today which brings the expected release date of Lollipop for HTC One M9 and the LG G3.
The document mentions release dates for HTC One M7 and Galaxy S5 as well. Those dates are spot on as Sprint really did roll out Lollipop for those devices on the dates mentioned in the document.
According to this document Sprint is going to release Android 5.0 Lollipop for HTC one M8 on February 13th. The LG G3 will follow suit just three days later on February 16th.
It also points out some of the new features included in Android 5.0 Lollipop such as the Material Design user interface, unified user experience, improved notifications and battery saver mode.
Like all other carriers Sprint tends to release updates in waves so not all users will receive Lollipop on their supported devices at the same time.
The document mentions that for a “successful installation” users should have a Wi-Fi connection to download the update and have at least 50 percent charge in their device.
