Sony has not been on the receiving end of bouquets, but rather, brickbats where their support policies are concerned – since history has shown that a fair number of their mid-range models happen to be rather slow in obtaining the latest operating system updates. In fact, the whole Xperia Z lineup has been promised to receive the Android 5.0 Lollipop update in due time, although delivery has been rather slow to say the least. Well, we have heard that Vodafone Australia has already confirmed that the Android 5.0 Lollipop update for the Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z2.
In fact, the mobile carrier is currently waiting to test out the latest version of the OS some time later this month, and in reality, it ought to push the actual release to March where Vodafone branded devices are concerned. This also translates to stock firmware Xperia handsets being on the receiving end of the update in a somewhat earlier moment.
Now that Android 5.0 Lollipop has begun to make its way to the operating system distribution chart in February 2015, and with additional manufacturers playing the catch up game, do expect to see Lollipop make more inroads in future chart releases. Well, owners of the Xperia Z2 and Xperia Z3 that are hooked to Vodafone Australia, this should be good news, right?
