Whenever there is a new device that is in the pipeline, ready and waiting in the wings to be revealed, you can be sure that there might be some leaks along the way – after all, humans are not too good at keeping secrets. Having said that, we are all looking forward to the release of the Samsung Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 Edge at this year’s Mobile World Congress, but this does not mean that Samsung has the monopoly over new smartphone announcements. Sony themselves are thick in the midst of the action as well, with many people looking out for the Sony Xperia Z4, while here we are with another upcoming device – the Sony Xperia M4 Aqua, being spotted in the wild, too.
A couple of photos of the alleged Sony Xperia M4 Aqua have surfaced online, where it does have its fair share of similarities with the Xperia M2 Aqua that was released not too long ago. The Sony Xperia M4 Aqua could also be known as the Sony E2303 from earlier leaks, and if that were to be the case, then it would translate to a 5.2″ 720p display, running on a Snapdragon 615 chipset with Android 5.0 Lollipop as the mobile operating system of choice, a 13MP camera at the back with a front-facing 5MP camera, and both cameras are more than capable of shooting 1080p video.
While the Xperia M2 Aqua does have a rating of IP68, which would mean it is dust-proof and capable of handling dives of up to 1.5m for 30 minutes, it would be anathema to think that the upcoming Sony Xperia M4 Aqua could not match such specifications at the very least.
