Dish’s new over the top internet TV streaming service can now be accessed through Amazon’s hardware. The company today announced that its Fire TV set-top box and the Fire TV Stick both now support Sling TV. Amazon is running a promotion with Sling TV as part of the launch. Customers who prepay for three months of Sling TV can get $50 off the retail price of the Fire TV set-top box, or a Fire TV Stick for absolutely no charge at all.
Support for Amazon’s hardware had been confirmed ever since the day Sling TV was publicly unveiled however it took until today for it to finally go live.
The service can already be accessed through iOS and Android apps, through web browsers on PC and Mac, and Roku devices are supported too. Xbox One support is promised and an app is coming soon.
For just $20 per month Sling TV subscribers can access live programming from networks like ESPN, TBS, TNT, Disney Channel and can pay $5 for extra packs which bring more channels focused on news and content for kids.
It was announced only recently that AMC is coming to the base lineup as well so subscribers will be able to enjoy shows like Mad Men and The Walking Dead with their base Sling TV subscription.
