Samsung has often been accused of copying Apple. Both companies have fought long and costly legal battles over this. Its a never ending debate to be honest and Samsung continues to push ahead with its plans, no matter how suspicious the timing may seen. Over the past few months we have heard that Samsung will be unveiling an Apple Pay competitor in the near future. Reports out of Korea suggest that this service might debut with the Galaxy S5.
The company has already send out invites for its media event on March 1st where it will unveil the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S Edge. Given that Apple made the Apple Pay announcement during the event for iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus it shouldn’t surprise anyone if Samsung decides to do that same at the event for its upcoming flagship smartphones.
Recently it was reported that Samsung is working with McAfee and VISA to improve its service and make it more secure. Apparently any cards issued by VISA will be compatible with this service.
Since the Galaxy S6 is going to have a fingerprint sensor it is highly likely that the sensor will be used as an authentication method for payments.
LoopPay is reportedly going to make cases for previous devices like Galaxy S5 and Galaxy Note 4 so that they too are compatible with the service.
If reports from Korean media are to be believed then this just might be the biggest feature that Samsung’s upcoming smartphones bring to the table.
