Trademark applications – it looks like South Korean firms Samsung and LG have been pretty heavily involved in them this month, having received word that LG themselves have been granted trademarks to the LG G4, G5, G6, G7 G8 and G9. Having said that, bitter rival Samsung does not look as though it is going to lose out, since we have received word that the conglomerate has applied for a trio of new trademark applications with the Korean Intellectual Property Office, where the trademark applications happen to be the “Samsung Galaxy Tab A”, “Samsung Galaxy Tab E”, and “Samsung Galaxy Tab J”.
Based on the naming conventions of these trademark applications alone, one can easily come to a conclusion that it would be nothing more but tablets that we are dealing with – however, it remains to be seen whether these will be the very same tablets that Samsung was touted to be working on some time back. Perhaps the Galaxy Tab A, E, and J could very well be a new naming convention for the current Galaxy Tab, Galaxy Tab S, or the Galaxy Note/Note Pro ranges. What do you think? I would simply say this – a rose by any other name, would smell just as sweet.
