Samsung Galaxy S5 Sees Silent Mode Return
While Samsung must certainly be very busy working on the release of their upcoming Samsung Galaxy S6 flagship device, this does not mean that the South Korean conglomerate has forgotten about its past releases, and that would mean the existing flagship device, aptly known as the Samsung Galaxy S5. This particular model was shown off as a reminder to everyone that the Galaxy S5 is still ‘irresistible’ – I suppose at the right price, anything can be irresistible. having said that, Samsung has just rolled out a spanking new software update for the Galaxy S5 which would make Interruptions go away, while championing the return of the age old staple, Silent mode.
Interruptions was the brainchild of Google’s engineers, where it was an exploratory move to see whether it will be a decent and also superior alternative to the Silent mode, but it seems that the ‘No Interruptions’ setting which silences alarms as well was not accepted too much by the masses, not to mention Interruptions being rather difficult to understand in the first place (as opposed to Silent Mode).
Hence, the most recent Lollipop firmware for the Galaxy S5 would see Interruptions replaced with Silent mode, so cheers all around for this return to the good old days! Right now, it does seem as though this new update will target only unlocked devices meant for the UK, so hopefully we will see a worldwide release soon.
