If the rumors are to be believed, Samsung is working on not only the Galaxy S6, but the Galaxy S Edge as well which is basically the Galaxy S6 with dual curved displays at its side. While the curved displays alone are interesting, what about the rest of the phone? Will Samsung sacrifice some of its hardware just for the curved displays?
For those hoping this isn’t the case, you can rest easy as recent AnTuTu benchmarks have revealed that the phone is no slouch. The benchmarks point to a handset with the model number G925W8 which is supposedly that of the Galaxy S Edge. According to the benchmarks, the phone will feature a 5.1-inch QHD display and a Samsung Exynos 7420 octa-core chipset under its hood.
It will be accompanied by a Mali-T760 GPU, 3GB of RAM, a 20MP rear-facing camera, a 5MP front-facing camera, and will come with Android 5.0.2 preinstalled. Assuming the benchmarks aren’t fake (which they can be), it seems that the Galaxy S Edge will be quite a powerful handset, powerful enough where it could tempt would-be Galaxy S6 owners over to it.
In any case more information is expected to be revealed at Samsung’s MWC 2015 event which will be kicking off in March, so be sure to check back with us then for all the details!
