Samsung Chromebook 2 Runs Windows?

What do we know about the Samsung Chromebook 2? Well, you can read our rather in-depth review of it here, but here is some new news on it – the Samsung Chromebook 2 will run on Windows, at least providing an alternative for those who would like to own an 11.6” laptop that is powered by an Intel Celeron N2840 Bay Trail processor. Of course, most of the markets will carry the Samsung Chromebook 2 that runs Chrome OS rather than Windows, but Samsung is certainly not limiting their scope in this particular case.

Also known as the Samsung NP110S1J, it will feature a similar chassis, processor and display. However, this particular model that runs on Windows will come with double the amount of RAM – that is, 4GB rather than 2GB, accompanied by 128GB of internal memory which is a huge improvement over the 16GB offered by the Chrome OS model, and of course, Windows 8.1 as the operating system of choice.

It certainly does not seem as though this particular variant is being sold outside of Asia as at press time, which can be a bummer, although it looks to be available not only in Hong Kong, but in mainland China as well. What do you think of such a variant?
