Pinterest is a great way for you to “pin” things that interest you on the internet. It could be a cool piece of art, a nice drawing, an upcoming gadget, interior design ideas, furniture, food, and etc. These pins can then be shared with your friends and followers who might also be able to draw inspiration from what you have shared with them.
So why can’t the same concept be applied to apps? If you think that the idea of pinning apps that you think are cool is a good idea, you’re in luck as Pinterest has recently debuted (via 9to5Mac) a new type of post in which users can pin apps that are of interest to them. Dubbed “app Pins”, it basically places an Install button that allows users to install the app that has been pinned directly within Pinterest itself.
“When you come across an app Pin, tap Install to download the app right to your iPhone or iPad without ever leaving Pinterest (you’ll only see app Pins when you’re using the Pinterest app on your iPhone or iPad).” This means that the installation of the app will not disrupt your browsing of Pinterest so you can continue to browse and check out your app after it has been installed.
It is a pretty nifty feature and if you’re sick of using mainstream apps but don’t know how else to discover apps that are just as good (if not better) that might be otherwise hidden because of a lack of promotion, hopefully this new Pinterest feature could be of use to you.
