People Sense Is Microsoft’s App For Finding Friends On Windows Phone

Microsoft seems to be developing a new app which is going to do what the Find My Friends app does on iOS, let people easily find their friends, provided that they’re on the same platform as them. Microsoft is reportedly developing an app called People Sense which would pretty much do the same thing, only the platform will be its own, Windows Phone. Bascially People Sense will tightly integrated Bing Maps with calling and messaging features.

Folks at Spanish website Microsoft Place took a fairly detailed look at the most recent build of People Sense. Currently the app is carrying the codename Buddy Aware.

The feature set demonstrated in the video seems to be very stable. People Sense provides real-time location information for the people a user follows as well as provides them with detailed direction’s to a contact’s location.

Calling and messaging is built right into the app so users can get in touch with the contact while being aware of their location in real-time.

The app doesn’t seem to provide notifications to alert users when one of their contacts is nearby but given that the app is still in development it is likely that this feature might be added in a future build.

Microsoft has not revealed as yet when it plans on releasing People Sense for Windows Phone. Though the app won’t serve users any purpose if majority of their friends use iOS or Android since its only good for contacts that are using a Windows Phone device as well.
