Opera App Pass Makes Life In Emerging Markets Easier

When it comes to emerging markets, there are plenty of stuff to worry about, and a spanking new smartphone would most probably not rank too highly on the list, other than bread and butter issues that are close to the heart. Still, in order to bridge the digital divide, smartphone users in emerging markets might just benefit from the Opera App Pass that would benefit app users by offering free or discounted data.

How does Opera’s App Pass work? Well, App Pass would enable carriers to offer special deals to its subscribers, which in turn enables customers to be able to access selected apps for free, or in certain cases, for a reduced cost. App Pass would play nicely with Opera Max, which so happens to be a browser that takes advantage of both video and data compression so that users will be able to save up to 50% of the data that is normally required in order to open and run an app.

Opera claims that smartphone manufacturers in the vein of Samsung and Micromax have already agreed to pre-load App Pass where future models are concerned, and this is a good thing – taking into consideration the proliferation of Samsung’s many handsets across multiple countries throughout the world.
