We heard from the folks at Cyanogen recently that the build 12S for OnePlus One, based on Android 5.0 Lollipop, has entered final testing stages. This means that OnePlus One owners will soon be running Google’s latest release. Following the announcement today OnePlus posted a brief teaser on Google+ showing off the new build running on its smartphone.
The software for OnePlus One is provided by Cyanogen, the company that also makes some of the most popular custom ROMs for Android devices. Relations between the two companies have soured as of late but Cyanogen has committed to providing software support for this device.
OnePlus today posted a 24-second video clip online which shows Lollipop running on the OnePlus One. We get a brief glimpse at the software which looks to offer the same near-stock experience that one can expect on Nexus and Motorola devices with the exception of some features that Cyanogen has baked in.
The upcoming build for OnePlus One is based on Android 5.0.2 to be precise. A release date has not been provided yet but since it is in final testing the release shouldn’t be too far off.
OnePlus has also been teasing its own software for the OnePlus One which comes after it broke up with Cyanogen. The OxygenOS will be unveiled later this month.
