At an event last month Microsoft unveiled the new software that it is going to release later this year. So far the company has released a preview of Windows 10 and promised to provide one for smartphones as well. We know that Office 2016 is expected to arrive later this year and today Microsoft has released universal Office for Windows 10 preview apps which include Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
These apps can be installed on PCs, laptops and tablets running the Windows 10 Technical Preview. Microsoft promises that it will bring these apps over to smartphones and tablets running Windows 10 in the coming weeks.
Microsoft has designed all of these apps from the ground up to run on Windows 10. They’re built for touch enabled devices as well so they can work across a variety of different devices while providing the same experience that users know and love.
The company says that it will share more about Office 2016 in the coming months. It is working on the next release of the Office desktop suite called Office 2016 which will be released later this year.
Those who have already joined the Windows 10 Technical Preview can download these apps from the Windows Store Beta right away. You can go here to join the Windows 10 Technical Preview.
Word, Excel and PowerPoint are now live in the Windows Beta Store.
