According to the rumor mill, we have heard that Microsoft could be working on an updated version of the Lumia 830 and recently it seems that those rumors could be right on the money. According to a recent Reddit thread (which has since been edited with the details and photos removed), it seems that Microsoft is working on a device that looks similar to the Lumia 830, except thinner.
The folks at WMPowerUser claim that the handset looks like the Lumia 830 but there are some slight changes, such as its camera where it now sports a camera-like ring instead of a black disc which is found on the Lumia 830. It also appears to be thinner (unfortunately we did not see the image ourselves so we can’t verify their claims).
They also claim that the device appeared to be running on a different build of Windows, possibly Windows 10 but they can’t confirm it at the moment. According to the leaker, Microsoft will not be calling this handset the Lumia 835 but will instead adopt a brand new naming scheme to help differentiate their low, mid, and high-level devices, kind of like what Nokia did back in the day of the feature phone.
According to the update post on Reddit, the leaker wrote, “Sorry guys, but I realized I got too excited and probably shouldn’t have shared that story as I don’t want the MS rep to get into any trouble (and myself in the process).” Either way we have heard the rumors that Microsoft could have some new devices to share at MWC 2015 so do check back with us then for the details, until then take this with a grain of salt.
