It looks as though aviation company Northrop Grumman has decided to drop a teaser of its upcoming stealth bomber in, of all places, a Super Bowl commercial. The advertisement ran for half a minute which was aired during the Super Bowl, and it depicted just what the company has been up to in the past where older stealth bombers are concerned, among them include the iconic B2-Spirit, and of course, saw a natural progression that ended with an as-yet unseen craft. Needless to say, this particular mystery aircraft remained covered up.
It is interesting to note that the depiction of military hardware is not something new to be grasped at all for large aviation companies, and it is certainly a way to blow one’s trumpet, if you may classify it as that. Our friends living across the pond, BAE, is also “guilty” in a similar manner when it revealed the unmanned stealth fighter known as Taranis in recent memory.
Right now, Northrop Grumman happens to be right smack in the middle of a war – the bidding kind, alongside Lockheed Martin and Boeing to roll out the next generation stealth bomber for the US Military. It will definitely be an interesting race to see which company wins out in the end.
