Rock Band is a well known game series that lets players jam to recorded music. The last major release was back in 2012 so one can say that the time is ripe for a new title. According to a new report a new Rock Band game is indeed in the pipeline and it will be released for both PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One. The report comes from a respectable scribe that cites a person familiar with the plan.
According to Bloomberg, Harmonix Music Systems is developing the new game for the latest generation of consoles from Sony and Microsoft. The person who provided this information has not been named since he or she asked to remain anonymous as this matter is private.
Speculation about a new title also picked up when Harmonix started adding new DLC to Rock Band 3 and that too after a hiatus of 21 months. Just last month new songs from Arctic Monkeys, Foo Fighters and Avenged Sevenfold were added to the game
Earlier this week Harmonix also added songs from Tenacious D’s Rize Of The Fenix and Back to the Shack from Weezer. A survey was recently also conducted by Harmonix which asked fans what they would like to see in a new title.
