It seems that the specifications for a couple of upcoming Qualcomm chipsets have been leaked – and they are known as the Snapdragon 618 and Snapdragon 620. In this latest leak, it has been revealed that both of them will make use of big.LITTLE setups accompanied by ARM’s latest Cortex-A72 core. The Snapdragon 620 did leak out in a roadmap just last month, albeit that carried an entirely different set of specifications as opposed to the latest leak, which will see the Snapdragon 620 (8976) sport a quartet of Cortex-A72 cores which have been codenamed Maia, and four Cortex-A53.
As for the Snapdragon 618 (8956), it will be rather similar, although it will come with just a couple of A72s. Regardless, both of these will make use of a new Adreno 510 GPU, which so happens to be the low-power version of the Adreno 530 that can be found in the spanking new Snapdragon 820 and 815.
These chipsets will have the relevant firepower in order to handle a couple of 13MP cameras (at 930Mpix/sec), or a single camera of up to 21MP resolution. In terms of video, they top out at 2160p @ 30fps or 1080p @ 120fps. Connectivity-wise, there is LTE Cat. 6 (300Mbps) connectivity, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.1, Miracast, HDMI and USB 2.0 support.
