Motorola has an online tool called Moto Maker which you can use to customize a smartphone that you purchase from the company. So far the tool has only been limited to smartphones but next month this is going to change. Motorola is going to open up Moto Maker to its Moto 360 smartwatch, allowing you to add your own personal touches to the wearable device, before it gets shipped to your doorstep.
Moto Maker will provide three options for the watch case: silver, black and champagne gold. The band will be offered in two sizes, in either leather or metal, and finally you’ll be able to pick one of the 11 watch faces which will come preinstalled on your Moto 360.
When Moto Maker is opened up to the Moto 360 next month the company will also introduce some new watch faces as well as the single-link metal band that it teased about a year back.
This was clearly the next step for Motorola’s online customization suite, many had wondered previously if and when it would be opened up to the company’s smartwatch, which many believe was the best looking wearable device introduced in 2014.
So far Motorola has not detailed its plans for a second generation Moto 360. Hopefully Moto Maker support for the existing one will keep customers busy till the time its ready to show off the new wearable device.
