Every year after the International Consumer Electronics Show we turn our attention towards the Mobile World Congress. At this trade show many companies show off their new products, particularly smartphones and tablets, and this year we expect new flagships from the likes of Samsung and HTC. Almost all major brands are in attendance and now that Microsoft makes its own smartphones it makes sense for the company to be there too. And it most certainly will be present.
Microsoft today started sending out invites to the press for its Mobile World Congress 2015 media event. The invite doesn’t hint at what to expect from the event but Microsoft is going to make some sort of announcement at 08:30 CET on March 2nd, Monday, which is the first day of the conference.
Only recently it was confirmed that Snapdragon 810-powered Lumia flagship devices are on the cards for this year but so far there haven’t been any reports of these devices being unveiled at MWC 2015.
Even the rumor mill is quiet on this front which means its highly unlikely that Microsoft will announce high-end Lumia smartphones at its media event.
The possibility exists though that we might be treated to a mid-range device. There has been a lot of chatter recently about Lumia 1330, successor to the Lumia 1320, so perhaps we’ll finally get to see it at MWC 2015.
