It was about a month back when Microsoft announced that it was rolling out the much awaited Lumia Denim update for compatible Windows Phone devices. The Verizon exclusive Lumia Icon supports this update but it hasn’t received Denim up till now even though the carrier immediately rolled Denim out for Lumia 822 and Lumia 928 after Microsoft’s announcement. The company is still not in any position to confirm to Lumia Icon owners when they’ll receive this update.
The Lumia Denim update brings Windows Phone 8.1 Update 1 as well as some features that are exclusive to Lumia handsets. Previously Lumia Icon owners had been told that they will receive Denim by “early 2015.”
Now that January is over it is understandable that Lumia Icon owners are getting restless. They want to know when Lumia Denim will be released for their devices.
Windows Phone exec Joe Belfiore explained what Microsoft has said before, “early 2015,” he says that the release should take place between January and February, “less likely March.”
In a subsequent tweet Belfiore said that Verizon and Microsoft are working on a daily basis to get this update ready. Pointing towards the unpredictability in the test process Belfiore says that they can’t provide a “firm” end date at this point in time.
