When it comes to tablets that run on the Android mobile operating system, you cannot really go wrong by picking from the Android tree – although there might be way too many different kinds of “fruit” to choose from, that could end up leaving the new consumer bewildered and confused. Having said that Micromax has just revealed a Canvas Tab tablet that will run on an Intel Atom processor, where it will be known as the Micromax Canvas Tab P666.
The Canvas Tab P666 is made out of aluminum and glass, where it is a mere 7.9mm thin – which ain’t too shabby, really. Unlike other tablets where you can tell the screen size based on the model number alone, this particular one is a tricky customer, as it sports an 8” IPS display alongside 1,280 x 800 pixels resolution. This will be different from the P650 that will be powered by a Cortex-A7 based chipset.
Apart from that, the Canvas Tab P666 will run on Android 4.4 KitKat, sporting 8GB of internal memory that can be further expanded by a microSD memory card slot, 1GB RAM, a 5MP camera at the back and a 2MP selfie shooter, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi and 3G connectivity thrown into the mix, all of it powered by a 4,400mAh battery.
