We’re sure many fans of the Metal Gear Solid franchise are wondering when the next title, The Phantom Pain, would be released. Last we heard an announcement for its release date would be happening soon and while we’re waiting on that, recent speculation has surfaced that suggests that we could be looking at a release between April and June of 2015.
Why those dates, you ask? According to a theory cooked up by the folks at the NeoGAF forum, this is because those dates follow the financial year of April 2014 to March 2015 in which the report said that the game was listed as a “pipeline” release, indicating that its release would take place after the financial year starting in April.
By that logic, shouldn’t December 2015 be part of that timeframe as well? It would be, except that Konami’s Pro Evolution Soccer was not mentioned in the report. The game has been pegged for a release in the fall which suggests that games released after a certain point in time would not be included in the report.
This ultimately leads to speculation that The Phantom Pain would most likely see an April-June release. We have to admit that the logic is pretty sound, although we have to wonder if this is merely wishful thinking on the parts of fans or if it could be real, but what do you guys think?
