Mattel is probably a company that many of you guys associate with toys, but interestingly enough it seems that the toy maker will be partnering up with Google to announce something. Both companies have recently started to send out invites to an event on the 13th of February in which they will unveil something.
GIven Google’s involvement we’re guessing it will most likely be technology-related, and with the View Master film in the upper half of the invite, it seems to suggest that we could look forward to some kind of virtual technology-like product. Or perhaps Mattel might have new content that they will release for Google Cardboard.
Or maybe Mattel will be manufacturing Google Cardboard designed for children? However considering that Google announced that they had acquired Launchpad Toys and its Toontastic app, it wouldn’t be a stretch to think that Google is starting to look towards its younger audience as their future potential market.
We have also heard rumors that Google could be developing a kids-friendly YouTube which was later confirmed by a Google exec who revealed that kids-friendly versions of its more popular services are in the works. In any case do check back with us on the 13th of February for the details.
