As Mobile World Congress 2015 comes closer with each passing day rumors about the new devices we expect at the event continue to grow. Over the past few days there have been countless rumors and leaks concerning the Samsung Galaxy S6 and the latest has to do with the release date for this upcoming flagship smartphone. Rumor has it that the Samsung Galaxy S6 release date is either March 22nd, or just a couple of days after that.
The folks at PhoneArena base this claim on a purported leaked internal memo that they have received from a tipster, presumably a Samsung employee, which reveals blackout periods for employee vacations.
Even companies like Apple impose blackout periods for vacations when they have big new products coming up so if Samsung is indeed considering these release dates then it wouldn’t surprise anyone if employees are not allowed to skip a day during that period.
As per the memo one blackout period begins from March 22nd and runs through March 30th. It is said that the Galaxy S6 might be released either on March 22nd or after.
The second blackout period starts on April 19th and will end on April 27th, that is when its possible for Samsung to release the Galaxy S6 Edge, a smartphone that could tout a three-sided display.
Samsung has neither confirmed nor denied these release dates and since its going to provide this information at MWC 2015 anyway, there’s no need for the company to bother itself with this right now.
