If you happen to be a guest at the upcoming hotel, be prepared to be met by robotic desk staff. The lack of the human touch here would also mean that here should not be any point in asking for a room upgrade, as the robot does not care just how frazzled you are after your journey that has seen its fair share of delays. At least there is no room for offence if you do not tip your robot porters though.
Heck, even room cleaning “staff” will be robots, and you need not tote a key access card around, as guests will be able to gain access to their rooms using a facial recognition system. This might sound cool, but it does have a major disadvantage. What happens when you want your friend who is not a guest to go to your room and grab something? You would then have to follow him or her, leaving that nice spot in the lobby lounge for others. Do you think you would like staying at a hotel where there is minimal human interaction with the “staff”?
