iOS 8.2 is going to be the next major update for Apple’s mobile devices. The company never tells in advance when these updates will be released so there is no official time frame that we can go on. However it is rumored today that iOS 8.2 might not be released until March and there’s a good reason why Apple will wait until next month to push out this update.
Many of you would have probably read by now that Apple is planning on shipping the Apple Watch in April. Before the smartwatch comes out existing devices that are compatible with it will have to receive a software update so that they’re able to work with the app.
It is not really clear at this point in time what iOS 8.2 will bring. We can expect the usual slew of performance improvements and bug fixes. Undoubtedly the biggest addition will be the support for Apple Watch.
It was also rumored recently that Apple has already started asking developers to submit their apps for the Apple Watch. This would ensure that there are ample apps available once the device finally hits the market.
Apple hasn’t provided a confirmed release date for its smartwatch yet, the company only says that it will come in April 2015. March seems just about right for iOS 8.2.
