According to @upleaks, the device has been given the name “Petra”, although we’re not sure if this is a codename or if it is the actual product name. Interestingly enough despite the assumption, HTC’s wearable will reportedly not be powered by Android Wear, but rather a platform called RTOS which is developed by HTC.
It will be powered by an ST Micro STM32L151 chipset and will feature a 1.8-inch PMOLED flexible display, and will be available in S, M, or L sizes depending on how big your wrists are. It is also apparently boasting a battery life of over 3 days and will be both water and dustproof with a rating of IP57.
The report by @upleaks also seems to corroborate an earlier rumor in which it was suggested that the fitness band could see a release stateside first before making its way to other parts of the world and should be launched in Q1 2015. In any case take it with a grain of salt for now, but with HTC’s MWC 2015 event kicking off in March, we only have a few weeks to go before all is revealed.
