Set between Halo 4 and 5, Halo: Nightfall is an episodic live-action TV series which was aired last year on the Xbox consoles. Initially the series was only released for Xbox One and Xbox 360 but Microsoft never denied that at some point Halo: Nightfall will be available for everyone even if they didn’t have the company’s console. It was reported recently that the series will be released as a collection next month and today Microsoft has formally confirmed that Halo: Nightfall will be released on Blu-ray and DVD on March 17th.
All five episodes of this series, which is directed by Sergio Mimica-Gezzan and produced by Ridley Scott, have been merged together in a feature-length film and will be released in this fashion on Blu-ray and DVD next month.
Microsoft has released a new trailer for this series as well apart from confirming today when the physical launch is going to take place. A digital version of the series will be released as well, also on March 17th. Microsoft hasn’t said if and when Halo: Nightfall will be made available to on-demand services.
The series tells the story of Jameson Locke who is a “legendary manhunter and agent with the Office of Naval Intelligence,” and it revolves around the events between Halo 4 and Halo 5.
