This particular announcement of the Android One program benefiting from some Lollipop goodness comes about from a certain Caesar Sengupta – who is obviously a Google employee. At this point in time, Google has begun to push Lollipop out to a small number of handsets at the moment, but they have already penciled plans to be more inclusive of additional users each week. Sengupta claims that you would happen to stand a better chance of picking up an over-the-air update should you be connected via Wi-Fi to the Internet.
There is no word on the version of Lollipop that is being released by Google, but fingers crossed that it will be Android 5.1 Lollipop instead of Android 5.0 Lollipop. Do bear in mind that Android 5.1 Lollipop has not seen an official announcement to date, but it is certainly very real.
