The team has recently announced that they will be rolling out iBeacon technology at their Quicken Loans Arena. Notifications will be pushed out to visitors at the arena via the Cavaliers’ official app, which you can see in the image above. The app will welcome visitors with messages and also provide them with exclusive video content.
This video content is also based on location which could come in handy during visits. For example walking by the display of the original hardwood classic court from the Richfield Coliseum will show a video from the 1976 Miracle of Richfield highlights. The app will also deliver promotional incentives and giveaways, and reminders to pick up raffles tickets when volunteers are close by.
For those who’d rather just enjoy the game without being bothered by the technology, you’re more than welcome to opt out meaning that you should be be spammed by notifications while you’re there. In the meantime for those who are interested in it, you can head on over to the iTunes App Store for the app download.
