Canon PowerShot G3 X Prototype To Debut At CP+

powershot g3 xCanon’s PowerShot G series of cameras have always been pretty impressive, and last year we were treated to the PowerShot G1 X II and the PowerShot G7 X, and now it looks like Canon has a newer model in play called the PowerShot G3 X as announced by the camera manufacturer. Now the actual camera itself isn’t ready although Canon will be displaying a prototype at CP+ next week.

So what can we look forward to? Given that the camera is still in development, we wouldn’t be surprised if some of it changed towards the end, but for now photographers can expect Canon to incorporate a 1-inch sensor and a massive 24-600mm lens, all of this while packing it into a relatively compact body.

This is great news for photographers who want a high-powered zoom lens but don’t want a bulky DSLR or a long and heavy lens that they will have to lug around with them. Unfortunately this is all the information that Canon has to share regarding the PowerShot G3 X, but hopefully the company will have additional information at CP+ next week, such as its specs and its availability, so do check back with us then for the details! In the meantime who else is excited to see what the PowerShot G3 X has in store for us?
