Canon EOS Rebel T6i/T6s Are Official And Affordable

As much as photographers would love to own a piece of high-end gear, unfortunately its pricing makes it out of reach for most of us, however if you want to jump start your photography career by picking up an affordable DSLR, then Canon might have something for you. The other we report on the Canon EOS Rebel 750D/760D and now they have become official.

They are known as the Canon EOS Rebel T6i/T6s (this is depending on which market they will be available in) and will be priced at $750 and $850 (body-only) respectively which makes them relatively affordable for photographers starting out in the business, or for hobbyists who don’t see the need to pay thousands of dollars for a camera.

So what kind of specs are we looking at? Both cameras will come equipped with Canon’s 24.2MP CMOS image sensor with hybrid autofocusing technology, which according to Canon will make autofocusing faster and more accurate in both stills and videos. Both cameras will also feature a 19-point cross-type AF system and will be able to shoot continuously up to 5fps.

There will also be built-in WiFi and NFC connectivity, a 3-inch touchscreen display, and for the T6s, it will come with servo AF in live view which would be a first for a Rebel camera. Video recording will be at Full HD max resolution, but unfortunately it will be a tad choppy at 30fps, but it should be good enough to get the job done. The cameras are expected to be released in April 2015.
