AT&T wasn’t the first U.S. carrier to release Lollipop for any of its supported devices but today it is joining the fray nonetheless. The carrier has finally released this much awaited software update for LG’s existing flagship. AT&T LG G3 Lollipop update brings Android 5.0.1 to the device. This 689MB update brings many new features and improvements to the device.

Android 5.0.1 Lollipop for AT&T LG G3 carries build number LRX21Y and software number D85020f. It is now rolling out over the air.

The highlight of this software update is everything that comes part and parcel of Android 5.0.1 Lollipop. Users will immediately notice the updated user interface with Material Design elements.

Other features include new notification options, new quick settings drop-down menu, automatic device encryption as well as improved internet and Bluetooth connectivity. The update also promises better battery life and enhanced security.

The timing is just about right for this update. In January LG had said that Lollipop would begin to arrive for the G3 in the U.S. “soon.”

We’re in the second week of February right now and AT&T has ticked the box, it shouldn’t be long until other carriers follow suit as well.

AT&T LG G3 Lollipop update is being rolled out over the air. Expect it to arrive over the next day or two on all units across the country.
