For starters the new Fonepad 7 will have the model number FE375CL (last year it was FE170CG). The chipset in the new Fonepad 7 has also been upgraded. Previously it was powered by an Intel Atom Z2560 clocked at 1.6GHz, but now it will be powered by an Intel Atom Z3530 clocked at 1.3GHz.
It will also feature a 7-inch 1200×800 display followed by 2GB of RAM, 8GB or 16GB storage, 5GB of cloud storage, a microSD card slot for memory expansion, a 5MP rear-facing camera, a 2MP front-facing camera, and will support LTE and 3G connectivity while allowing users to make phone calls, assuming you have no qualms about putting a 7-inch tablet next to your face.
ASUS will be selling the new and updated Fonepad 7 in Taiwan first where it will retail for around $250, but unfortunately the company did not mention if there were plans to bring it stateside or to other markets around the world just yet.
