It was announced earlier this week that the Assassin’s Creed movie has been given the greenlight by New Regency and is now planned for release on December 21st, 2016. Production on the movie is said to begin this fall but there was never a formal announcement of the entire cast. However a latest report from a reputed source brings the information that Oscar winner Marion Cotillard has signed onto the Assassin’s Creed movie alongside Michael Fassbender.
Michael Fassbender is also playing deceased Apple co-founder Steve Jobs in the upcoming biopic being made under the Universal banner. The first spy shots have also emerged which show Fassbender in character as Steve Jobs.
While it is unclear what role Marion Cotillard is going to play in the Assassin’s Creed movie, Deadline confirms that she has signed on to the project, both her and Fassbender have an option to stay on for multiple films if the first becomes successful and spawns a franchise.
Marion Cotillard won the Academy Award for Best Actress in 2007 for La Vie En Rose. She is also widely known for her performance as Talia al Ghul in The Dark Knight Rises. Justin Kurzel is directing this movie.
Perhaps we’ll come to know a few months down the line precisely what roles these A-list actors will be playing.
