The good news is that if you have one of these affected laptops, Apple has recently launched a new repair program in which they will finally address the issues found on their MacBook Pros. Apple has since deemed that a “small percentage of MacBook Pro systems may exhibit distorted video, no video, or unexpected system restarts,” and that they will be repairing the affected systems.
What’s even better news is that these repairs will be free, so even if your AppleCare warranty has expired, you will be able to get the issue addressed at no cost to you. The new repair program covers any MacBook Pro purchased between February 2011 to December 2013. These repairs can be made in any of Apple’s own stores or an authorized service provider, whichever is more convenient for you.
The symptoms of the affected MacBook Pros include distorted or scrambled video, no video on the screen, or the computer restarting unexpectedly. If you’d like to check if your MacBook Pro is eligible for the repairs, head on over to Apple’s website for the details.
