We have received word that Meizu is currently hard at work, cranking out a brand new Flyme OS version that will be based on the most recent version of Google’s Android, which would be Android 5.0 Lollipop. In other words, it ought to come with the slew of optimizations on the Lollipop version, which includes Google’s Material design that delivers a flat and more beautiful user interface. Taking into consideration that the Meizu MX4 (as seen above) as well as the Meizu MX4 Pro will be on the receiving end of this update, there is still a fair amount of waiting to be done.
Still, hope springs eternal as Meizu pencils plans to kick off an open beta for the new ROMs later this coming March, which would then enable everyone to test the new software package. At the moment, both the MX4 and MX4 Pro happen to run on Android 4.4 KitKat, and are on the receiving end of regular software improvements through firmware upgrades. Still, I suppose a case of better late than never is always superior to not having it happen at all, right? It is with great anticipation that Meizu fanboys would look forward to the new Android 5.0 Lollipop update then.
