Microsoft’s Larry Hyrb, better known as Major Nelson, is back today with details on the upcoming system update for Xbox One. The Xbox One February update is going to bring two major changes for the console, Game Hubs and transparent tiles, apart from various other improvements and enhancements. A few changes have also been made to the live TV experience.

Game hubs have been described as the “go-to centers” for all kinds of content related to the games users have. All Xbox One games will have a game up which users will also be able to see which of their friends are playing the same game. They will also be able to compete with their friends in leaderboards, follow the VIP and top players of the game and view game clips and broadcasts from within the hub.

The Xbox One community had been urging Microsoft to add more tile transparency to Home tiles. Their feedback has been acknowledged. Major Nelson writes in the blog post that additional tile transparency is coming in the February update which will allow users to make their background images more visible, while pointing out that some items can’t be made transparent due to rights/restrictions for some images.

With the upcoming update Microsoft is continuing the preview of live TV streaming on Windows Phone and Android devices through for Xbox One Digital TV tuner users in the UK, Italy, Spain, Germany and France. The console also gets updates to the IR blasting database allowing it to work even better with new models of different devices.
