Microsoft has issued a service alert today, as it looks as though multiple Xbox 360 games have disappeared without a trace from the Xbox Live Marketplace – perhaps a digital sleuth needs to be called upon to find out what is happening? One of the titles that had been removed would be this month’s free Games With Gold title, The Witcher 2. As at press time, there were slightly more than 30 games that appeared to be available.
It also seems as though Microsoft themselves are taken aback by what had happened, as there was no element of this being planned. In fact, Microsoft had issued an Xbox Live service alert that stated how their engineers happen to be “working non-stop to get this situation resolved as quickly as possible”.
The alert continues, “We understand that some of you are having trouble completing in-game purchases, or accessing certain offers in the Xbox Store. We want to assure you that our team is working non-stop to get this situation resolved as quickly as possible. We appreciate your patience during this process, Xbox members! We’ll provide an update as soon as we have more information.”
Another hack or attack, perhaps? All we do know is, it is best to keep our fingers crossed for regular service to be resumed as soon as possible.
