Wacom’s bread and butter would be their artist tablets, and we have seen them deliver improvement and advancements in such technology for desktop artists over the years. In fact, it was just at the recently concluded CES 2015 in Las Vegas, Nevada, that the folks over at Wacom did show off their Cintiq Companion 2 – which is a long time in coming, actually, especially when you take into consideration that the Cintiq Companion from Wacom was announced back in 2013. A near 2-year hiatus is almost anathema in the world of consumer electronics. Well, back to the matter at hand – the Wacom Cintiq Companion 2 has now arrived at the FCC.
This new tablet would promise the delivery of advanced technology for the optimum pen-on-screen experience, and based on the new FCC filing, it does look as though the Cintiq Companion 2 is being primed for shipping not too long down the road.
In the FCC filing, it points to the description of the device to be an “LCD Tablet” with the model number DTH-1300. This would definitely be the clearest suggestion just yet that it could be the upcoming Cintiq Companion 2 without a doubt. One can use the Wacom Cintiq Companion 2 as either a Cintiq graphics tablet or a full Windows 8.1 tablet, and the accompanying Pro Pen can function as a brush, pen, or marker when merged with a range of creative software programs, sporting 2048 levels of pressure sensitivity and tilt recognition.
