VLC Beta For Windows Phone Updated

For those of you who are rocking to Windows Phone as your mobile operating system of choice, you would most probably want to check out the VLC beta app that handles video playback with plenty of aplomb and flexibility. Well, good news for folks who are into this particular app, since version 1.0.7 has just been released over in the Store. Of course, since this is a spanking new version, you can expect it to arrive with its fair share of fixes alongside improvements in order to deliver a more stable user experience.

While the changelog for version 1.0.7 remains rather sparse, this does not mean that this is a lightweight update. Rather, the developer behind the VLC for Windows Phone project, Thomas Nigro, did share additional details over Twitter. He mentioned that there were user interface bugfixes, while the background audio playback bug has been fixed. Apart from that, Lumia x20 devices ought to be able to play nice with version 1.0.7 without freezing any more whenever video playback is initiated.

Of course, it is not all a bed of roses as Nigro has also pointed out, “While this update provides fix for freezing when playing videos, it does NOT fix the lags on HD videos. Another fix will come. Rotation lock is still on the way for the next update. Same for incremental music loading. Same for embedded album cover. I also HIGHLY recommend you to uninstall/reinstall the app…”
