Unfortunately if you’re a Verizon subscriber hoping that maybe the carrier would follow suit, you’re out of luck. In an interview with CNET, Verizon’s CFO Fran Shammo revealed that Verizon will not be offering a similar data rollover service like what AT&T and T-Mobile are doing at the moment.
Shammo was quoted as saying, “We’re a leader, not a follower. We did not go to places where we did not financially want to go to save a customer. And there’s going to be certain customers who leave us for price, and we are just not going to compete with that because it doesn’t make financial sense for us to do that.”
We suppose for existing customers who are already used to having their data refreshed at the start of their next billing cycle, this doesn’t really change anything for you. However for those who are looking to get the most out of their money and who believe that the data is “owed” to them, then perhaps Verizon might not be the carrier for you in this regard.
