Under Armour, for those unfamiliar, makes fitness clothing that is designed to allow the wearer to feel more comfortable when working out while maximizing their performance. For the average gym goer this probably doesn’t make a difference, but for athletes and gym buffs looking to get as much as an advantage as possible, you might be interested to learn that Under Armour and HTC have recently teamed up in a new program.
This program will focus on promoting Under Armour Connected Fitness, a health tracking service that one could liken to Nike Plus and other similar services. As part of the new program, they have ported the Under Armour Record app from iOS onto Android devices. The app basically acts like other health tracking apps and users will be able to enter their data into it, like steps taken, sleep, workouts, and so on.
HTC has also revealed that as part of their new partnership with Under Armour, the company will be looking to design specific products that could work with Under Armour’s Connect Fitness program. It is unclear as to what exactly this means – could we be looking at specific and exclusive smartphone apps? Or could we be looking at a potential wearable from HTC?
Word has it that HTC is working on a smartwatch of their own that could be released later this year, but either way we’ll keep our eyes peeled for more information. In the meantime the Under Armour Record app is available for download via Google Play.
