In other words, he could actually have his team let loose and hit 60fps if they so desire, but considering there are only so many resources that a developer can fall back on where a console is concerned, that it is best to preserve the player’s experience so that they will keep coming back for more. After all, in the past, a locked or near-locked 30 frames-per-second happened to be the modus operandi for Naughty Dog games on the PS3 platform – older Uncharted games and The Last of Us included.
