If you are an avid Twitter user on your mobile handset, especially if you are running on the Windows Phone platform, perhaps you will be pleased as punch to hear that the Twitter app for Windows Phone 8.1 has just seen an update roll out which will introduce a couple of new features to the mix. This particular update would enable you to make use of Cortana, Microsoft’s digital voice assistant, to launch a brand new tweet in the Twitter app. Doing so is a snap – all you need to do is to say something to the tune of “Cortana, Twitter new Tweet I love Twitter”.
The fun does not stop there, however, as you will also be able to share websites from Internet Explorer on your Windows Phone to the Twitter app, too. Assuming you have yet to install the Twitter app on your Windows Phone 8.1 handset, perhaps it is time to remedy such a situation by downloading it from the Windows Phone Store right now.
In the past before this update, there was a bug in the older builds of Windows Phone 8.1 which would not allow the Twitter app to launch whenever you tap on its tile, so do make sure that your Windows Phone handset is up to scratch in terms of the operating system version. Should you come across this issue, do follow these steps in order to run the Twitter app just fine: Go to Settings > Backup > apps + settings and choose “Backup now”. [Press Release]
